10th. Anniversary, 1995 - 2005
7th. June 2005: I-Next is celebrating reaching it's 10th. Anniversary today. Much has changed since June 7th. 1995 which was the day I-Next was incorporated. "We set out with a mission to deliver business class web services to business clients, in the days when very few people knew about the web", commented John Hannawin, I-Next's MD, "we hope that we have achieved and, perhaps, exceeded that goal".
To get an idea of how far we've come, here is a little list of what it was like when we started:
We were designing web sites for 28.8Kb/s modems
Web sites could only
use 216 colours safely
NCSA Mosaic was THE browser, Netscape was
released shortly after
HTML tables hadn't been approved and weren't
supported by Mosaic
Windows 3.1 was the desktop operating system, it
had NO network capability built in
Our "datacentre" had one machine
and rated at 15 Bogomips
We had 64Kb/s connectivity to the
"datacentre"
Animated gif was the only animation technique,
Flash etc. were not invented
Since then, we've worked with a huge number of companies and suppliers who have helped us succeed. Here's a short reminder of some milestones for I-Next.
