Anti-Spam Form Upgrade for I-ntarsiatm
24th. March 2009: I-Next have today announced an upgrade to the Form Base module in the i-ntarsia website management system which will reduce the amount of spam submissions on customer forms.
I-ntarsia's Form Base has always used a session token passed to reduced the amount of spam submissions that can be made. Recently, however, more sophisticated attempts to bypass this have been seen, and so a new level of protection can now be installed on any i-ntarsia form. The 'Human Check' system allows the site owner to define any number of questions (with their answers) in any arbitrary grouping they require. Each form can then be inserted into a page with a selected group of questions. Each time a form is displayed, a 'Human Check' question will also be displayed and required before the form is submitted. Incorrect answers will generate an error.
This system differs significantly from the notorious image based systems, where often the image of the code to be entered is so well disguised for image processing spammers that humans can no longer distinguish the code either! Using the i-ntarsia system the site user can set up a more appropriate and audience tailored human check process.
